I started studying with the Irish Academy of Public Relations after a friend of mine recommended their certificate course in News Journalism. The course allowed me to return to study with like-minded people in a relaxed and professional set up at an affordable price. I have since upgraded to the Academy's Diploma course in journalism and just recently attended their one day certificate course in Radio Broadcasting which was held at the Radio Na Life studios in Dublin. Studying with the Academy has been a pleasure from day one and their help and guidance has been a crucial factor in enabling me to achieve a life-long ambition.
A very engaging course successfully balancing practical and theoretical aspects of journalism. I would without a doubt recommend it to anyone wishing to acquire essential journalistic skills and learn more about this profession. The weekly feedback from the tutor allowed me to pin down my writing strengths and weaknesses and served as an indicator of the type of journalistic activity that I would enjoy most. Most importantly, the course gave me confidence in my abilities and gave me a solid general insight into the journalistic field
This journalism course gave me the strength, knowledge and understanding of the alertness of a journalist and dedication towards the job. I am confident that I can take up any assignment of reporting now onwards. I am thankful to the faculties and administrative staff of the Orient Planet for their guidance and prompt assistance throughout the course. I wish them all success.
I was very glad for the opportunity to take this course; the fact that it’s delivered online makes it accessible to students all over the world who for whatever reason are unable to study journalism in their home countries. It’s flexible and accommodating, and the feedback from Mr Tony McCullagh was very positive and assured me that I have what it takes to pursue this as a career.
The Academy’s Diploma in Print Journalism Course was exactly what I was looking for; a broad and comprehensive overview of every aspect of contemporary journalism. Each module was packed with information without being overwhelming and I felt I learned something applicable from each assignment. The feedback from my tutor Jack Gleeson was invaluable and I appreciated the extra lengths he went to, often drawing from his own experience as a journalist to highlight a point. I would highly recommend the course for anyone interested in journalism, writing or research.
The modules were very insightful and gave me a very good perception into the world of journalism. I have always loved writing and this course has fed my passion which has helped change my career path to a more fulfilling lifestyle. The support I received from my assigned tutor Brenda was very clear, understandable and encouraging. I am delighted with myself for taking this chance to make a change, the results are well worth it -Thank you Irish Academy of Public Relations.
As a former graduate of the Irish Academy's Journalism course, I had no hesitation in returning to undertake the Diploma in Radio Journalism. The flexible, online approach was key for me as I work full-time. This course gave me an excellent insight into the whole area of radio journalism and the tutor input was fantastic. There is a really good balance between the practical and the theoretical and each of the 20 modules are really engaging. I never thought I would say this about a final assignment but it was a very enjoyable experience! I have to also acknowledge the support from Chris, the Student Liaison Officer who was fantastic in terms of feedback and answering any queries throughout. If you are looking to up skill in any area of media production then definitely look no further than the Irish Academy of Public Relations.
