Who We Are
The Global Institute for Public Relations is a private college focused on teaching communication skills to a worldwide audience of students. Previously known as the Irish Academy of Public Relations, the company became the Global Institute for Public Relations (GIPR) on Monday October 4th 2021.
The Global Institute for Public Relations is built on a foundation of networks, communication, and teachings expertly crafted and developed since the early 1990s. GIPR has deep-set roots in Ireland and has vastly expanded its network to Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Australia in the last 30 years. We have built connections in over 50 countries. Developed with global industry leaders, our courses ensure that our graduates are ready for a career in the dynamic communications industry. We aim to make education a positive and attainable experience for all. By choosing online courses, individuals can build their study schedule to suit their lives.

International PR Course
With the transition to the Global Institute for Public Relations, we’ve introduced an International PR diploma. The diploma was designed in response to the increasing demand for PR that extends further than just one continent, culture or nationality. An effective and powerful knowledge of International PR is an investment into a career which if ‘fit for purpose’ for the 2020s and beyond. This course is doubly-validated by both the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and the Global Institute for Public Relations (GIPR).
Our courses cover all aspects of communications. In addition to our International PR diploma, we offer courses in Print Journalism, Event Management, Content Creation, News Reporting, Radio Presenting and TV Presenting alongside a number of other options.
Our Global Network
Our PR course is validated by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), and we are members of the European Association of Distance Learning (EADL). We have an international network of partner colleges in Greece (The E-Learning Academy), the UK (The British Media Academy), the Middle East (Orient Planet Academy) and Ireland (the PR Training Academy). We also have partner colleges who teach our courses in Nigeria and throughout Ireland.
The GIPR has graduates in over 50 different countries including the U.K., Italy, the U.S., Canada, U.A.E., Australia and Japan. Diversity and acceptance is at the core of our values. Our Tutor Profile
Our tutors are all practitioners in their industry and they provide one-to-one tutoring to GIPR students. Our international panel of tutors currently consists of journalists, event managers, content creators, radio and television presenters, producers, and PR professionals across eleven countries. Our tutors have vast experience in their field and can offer invaluable advice to students taking our courses.
Ellen Gunning is the founder of the Global Institute for Public Relations. With over 25 years’ experience in this exciting industry, Ellen knows what it takes to succeed, and how important it is to be able to communicate effectively. Ellen is a great believer in the power of self-starting, and the ability within every individual to change their life, enhance their career and make an impact. Ellen Gunning is a successful author, journalist, PR practitioner and broadcaster. We have an international alumni group on LinkedIn, for graduates to get to know each other and use one another as resources.
